Basement Income Suite

This Bi level home was built in the early 2000’s. The home owners wanted to build a suite in the basement. They were getting close to retirement and wanted to do more traveling while knowing that there home would still be covering the mortgage payments when they are not there. The basement was already finished on one side, but in order to meet the secondary suite codes required by the city, it had to be gutted. The entire front entry had to be framed in, along with a hallway to the furnace room where the upstairs residence had their own laundry, while keeping the units separate. The rest of the basement was transformed into a modern one bedroom suite, with its own laundry.
